  • This is my favorite book ever!

  • Thank you so much for this. I use to hear this story all the time as a kid and it is such a beautiful story. But it is so sad that it makes me cry.

  • Got 5 tears out of me {sniffles}

  • Who could dislike this story? Favorite book as a child an still make me cry to this day

  • Every house should have this book. It's always taken on different meanings during certain times in my life.

  • Just read this book to my daughter and it made me cry (tried to hold back as much as i could). She doesn't understand why daddy was crying but I hope she will one day.

  • @Frogger0neXx dried? of what? poor people?

  • Metaphoric reference to Man Relation with Earth? Maybe. The Earth provides everything we need, and yet we are selfishly draining the life out of it for this economic culture that men created. We could've just happily live in harmony with our planet, but we've been program into a society that needs to work for things thats already a given. Money governs everything. Those who make the most, use the most resources, and others are left with less. Out of balance, the Earth will eventually be dried.

  • The boy takes and takes and takes & the tree gives gives gives...until... He has nothing left to give him. It's so touching.

  • @misonrisas A good story yes, but fabulous! I dont believe there is such a giving heart like this in the world, oh no, there cant be!

  • I remember when I had no idea what this story was about but now... *sigh* it brings tears to my eyes

  • still makes me cry...life does pass so fast. i read this when i was 9. now iam 29, life is just like this story, you forget about the smallest innocent things that once made you happy....
