  • This Lady Pearl was a class act. Thank you for the post.

  • @TheLudwigdude Not that it matters, but your 70's chronology is not quite correct. Louie moved from Rogers to Pearl to Slingerland (April of '78, Louie's recording with Sarah Vaughan, "How Long Has This Been Going On?"), then back to Pearl before his ultimate and final stay with Remo. The second move to Pearl happened, in part, as the result of a deal with Ludwig that fell through. They could not resolve Ludwig's insistence of requiring the use of Ludwig (non-Remo) heads.

  • @TheLudwigdude well then my guess wasn't all that off especially going by sheer memory

    cool!

but what was I doingf 5 minutes ago?

    ?

  • @ishredu Louie used Gretsch up to about 1962, then switched to Rogers and was with them until about 1973. Then he briefly went with Slingerland, but by 1975 he had switched to Pearl. Round about 1979, he switched back to Slingerland. Then a couple of years later he switched to Remo drums and was with them until he passed away.

I'm guessing this was about 1977-78 for this performance.

  • @mikebuddy1 must company jumped liked crazy the spitfire snare is about the same era I guess he went to sling in 77
