This video shows the E-BikeKit conversion kit contents. It's a rear hub motor with battery. I ordered both the 6 and 7 speed freewheel as well as a half twist and thumb twist throttle. I wanted to try all of those out. The next sequence of videos will show how I install this kit on a mountain bike.

  • I hear you mate. I am debating on making a whole new bike (after Xmas) I'v been e-biking so hard and so long now I don't even drive a car anymore. I got away from SLA few months ago. I end up getting a lithium nickel manganese cobalt battery. It's more stable than lifepo4.

  • @ElectricScotsman Good news on the car. I sold mine over 2 years ago, don't miss it. Let me know what kind of e-bike you make. Make a video of it.

  • Nice, going to make another e-bike I see. Also see you got a lifepo4. Keep us posted

  • @ElectricScotsman Yep, making another e-bike. I just can't help myself :-) I'm making this one for a friend so the lifepo4 goes to her. I'm still riding with SLA on NoPonder but they are getting tired. The lifepo4 for the ShortHopper project is on the way. Videos about that one soon.

  • Wanting to try a diy conversion. Definitely don't want to even bother with anything less than 1000watts. I have a hill on my commute route that I have to climb and really don't want to peddle up that thing. I have enough basic mech skills, so that isn't an obstacle. Looking to make sure I pick the right kit. I'm hearing things about overheating controllers that has me worried.

Thanks for the great series on electric bikes.

  • I thought Lithium Cobalt was inferior to the Lithium Phosphate
