  • All music tech shows are now too expensive. Add the cost of travel and parking, overpriced food & drinks and its not surprising customers/the public don't attend and the shows are being cancelled. Its a jolly for the trade & press at the expense of the sponsors and exhibitors. It all ends up being added to the retail price which the punter ends up paying. Thanks for the info anyway.

  • @tomyg2 Thats not totally true, for us at least the amount of content we get from this show is very cost effective. We usually come away with 100+ pieces usually if we were to visit someone or do a review it would take atleast one man day plus travel, plus we get to have some face to face time with the manufacturers and make contacts. I agree that for the average consumer it doesnt make sense, but thats why we go - so you can view it through our team

  • NAMM like the CES show is becoming too expensive for many companies. With the internet you can find out about new products without the cost of traveling to the shows, the annoying noise of a show (it is difficult to hear any product at these shows), and the lack of knowledeable company people in crowded booths. And don't forget about the $7.00 glass of beer and the $5.00 dried out hot dog that has been floating in boiling water for three hours. Thanks for the post guys.

  • @mattsynth Its true, though we like to think we get the best of it considering.

  • Thanks for your excellent show. I hope for this NAMM that at last the Karma software for the Yamaha motif series would be realeased

  • the new mpcs are midi controllers, they are not stand alone instruments anymore...

  • the MPC renaissance can use out side vst as well as running in your daw of your choice. pretty much the MPC is for user who love the thought of the MPC name!. pretty much its maschine with an audio interface.

  • Maschine>Mpc Renaissance

  • Nice to see Casio getting back in the game.

  • "The way Maschine & Komplete 8 integrate together is unbelievable."

Not hard to believe at all if you were a Kore user :(

Great show Nick, really looking forward to your NAMM coverage! Please stop by the Analog Haven booth and snap some vid or modular madness!
