I guess I was lucky, lol. My two male Auratus never harmed any of my other fish-- never seen them pose a threat either-- of course they chased but as soon as one of the fish got to their territory, they left them alone. A lot have told me "You have too much stuff in the tank, I can barely see the fish!". On the contrary, that's what kept all my fish safe, no one ever died due to stress or an attack.

yeah it does but you can only fit so many in the tank. and the auratus still pester other fish reguardless how many are in there.

not wrong sean, does over stocking not help the aggression though? advice to me says it does.

That thank is no longer in existence, however it was a 20 bowfront (it was a temporary tank). I put a lot of obstructions in there to keep them from harassing each other until they were moved to their actual tanks. It kept the tension down. It's important to have a lot of hiding places when there are aggressive fish involved. (some were more aggressive than others). Luckily no fish showed sign of stress and all their fins and scales are intact.. must've done something right.

I have a cichlid tank but i have trouble maintaining it because they are so agressive... if u want a really nice fish get an electric blue jack dempsey.

yeah, I had a blue jack at one point.. but i switched to an african cichlid tank, it's good to only have african cichs in a tank together, so I only bought african cichlids after that.
