A new painting by the Dutch-born American Artist Peter Teekamp, celebrates this most amazing time in American history. "Just a few decades ago, this would have seemed impossible. We've come such a long way!
It really inspired me" says Teekamp, who became a U.S. citizen in the mid seventies. The painting shows Obama and Clinton wrapped in the American flag to symbolize unity. With signs in the stars symbolizing freedom of religion and doves with olive branches as a statement for peace.
Teekamp paints the pair in black and white, stating; "Shouldn't we be colorblind when we choose a leader?" With Obama supporting Clinton, and Clinton's peace sign just visible in front of Obama, the painting shows a goodwill offering and the world seems to be loving it.
This is a dream ticket, a celebration. This part of history has already been made, they are together in a race for the White House. The power is now in the people's hands. It is time for a change and truth in the words; "Yes, we can. War is over, if you vote!"
