I haven't been so deeply moved by someones work in years the way many of Miss Maier's photos have done. Something tells me that for her, recognition was just not necessary. Sometimes a person does what they do simply because they love doing it and that's more than enough. All of the kudos and accolades from others cannot compete with that. I for one am thankful that someone considerate has landed the task of guardianship.

true to some extent. You cant have taken all those photos and not at least shared it with your family, or at least one friend. its not about recognition, its more than that. at least not have them all locked away where you yourself cant enjoy it. then you could argue she just loved taking the pics but still no matter who you are, part of that enjoyment comes from seeing your work.

the only thing i can think is she was just extremely reclusive.
