@raymond942 As for conversion... the number of Christian missionaries far outnumbers any other missionary. In India, there are riots between Hindus and Christians because of that. The missionaries pay money to the poor to convert. Muslim conversion is above these statistical values. The love of the Creator of Adam and his Children is required for a person to truly embrace Islam.

@raymond942 Jizya is a tax which is not paid in humiliation; rather it is paid to the ruler in exchange of protection. The non-Muslims are not expected to pay Zakat or Fitra, which are Islamic taxes paid to the poor. I don't think, if you were an army general, you would ask your soldiers to get killed, rather than be killed. However, I must point out, that Muslims can only wage wars in self-defense. The Muslims ruled Spain for over 800 years. How many Christians were killed there?

@raymond942 The verses which you refer to specifically refer to the Quraish, which repeatedly kept on breaking treaties. I am pretty certain you are aware of that. The instance that you pointed out has some text before and after. I believe you should read that. Muslims don't expect everyone to convert; the love of the Creator is innate; it cannot be forced upon someone. A Muslim's job is to convey the message. Since every one has a free will, he or she has the right to choose.

@qanittakmeel - yes, i know quran is out of date-order,but chronlogically,the 'verseOfTheSword" is much later than many peaceful verses.Many have tried the "outOfContext" arguement. 4 example,Muslims try2 excuse 4the "kill the unbelievers"verse,but all the Tafsirs explain it as u read it,so muslims dont have a leg2stand on defending this.As 4prejudice,i repect all humans, Y shud any nonMuslim respect a belief that calls non-muslims to 1.convert, 2.pay jizya with humiliation, or 3.die in war.

@raymond942 If a person wants to justify something, he will find an alibi for it. Whether it is the so-called "weapons of mass destruction" which were never found, or misquoting any verse from any scripture.

@raymond942 You seem to be extremely biased. You have simply quoted 9:5 out of context. Start from 9:1, where the polytheists have broken a treaty. Read 9:6, where it is commanded that if the enemy offers peace, then take him to a place of safety. I don't wish to offend any Christians/Jews, I don't have prejudice against any faith. But if you read your own scripture, you shall be surprised.

@qanittakmeel - most misquoted verse. Read ALL Quran 5:32,it refers to "children of Israel". Also, even if this verse was a peaceful one (which it aint,coz it talks down 2 Jews) by the law of abrogation, any chronologically later verse (such as 9:5 ["kill the unbeliever wherever u find them"]) cancels ANY peaceful verse. This is Y muslims wanting 2 fool the west can (mis)quote a peaceful verse, & Jihadists can correctly quote a murderous verse against the Kuffar: D'ar-al-Harb...
