Strokes kill more than 300,000 of us every year, often without warning. New findings suggest homocysteine plays a larger role in our health. Monitoring of homocysteine levels can help detect the risk of stroke, especially in patients with high blood pressure.

  • Methionine loading test is necessary for detection of hyperhomocysteinemia.

    .....

In conclusion, the MLT is necessary for diagnosis of hyperhomocysteinemia, because a considerable number of hyperhomocysteinemic persons (55%) remain undiagnosed with the determination of a fasting homocysteine concentration alone.

  • @tah415: Everyone should have this test done once a year, especially women. If levels are high it is most likely the person will have a M.I. within a years time. I placed a naturopathic approach to keep this level normal and lower high levels on my channel. It will remain post for a few days.

  • Or, people can eat normal and exercise. Then we wouldn't have to worry about homocysteine as much.

  • I am well aware of this.

  • Wow, shouldn't I be asking my doctor to test me for this? It sounds like a test is available.
