The nerd humour is what I love about Robot Chicken and Family Guy, even though I was born in 1991. What can I say? I'm nostalgic, even beyond my lifespan. I find myself being the only one laughing sometimes.

I get the references and am supposedly a part of the target audience for the shows, but I personally just don't find their lampoons humorous.

i dont care how racist the shows r or how offensive, i just like them cuz there soo dame funny XD

Bro, I was born in '89 and I get most of it and I've watched most of the shows.
Besides, with the ones that I haven't, you really don't need to watch the original to have it be funny to you.

eh, I'm a 1990 boy myself, so I get most everything that Seth Green shits out. But, really, it was mostly my older brother, who I aspired to be when I was young, who really introduced most of the 80's cartoons like Thunder Cats, He-man, Transformers, and even Highlander. Usually, it would be that I watched what he watched. So ever since the beginning, I was always up to speed on a lot of what Robot Chicken did.

I was born in 92 and I "get" the 80s sketches
When I was a 5 year old kid I watched alot of 80s stuff Ghostbusters and I still love that stuff.
I even watched the 1960s Captain America cartoon with comic book animation (No Idea why it was on TV)
Ill admit that I never watched the original transformers but I grew up with Beast Wars instead and they were the same characters.

Also, I agree so much about the Transformers thing, that it kinda hurts...

Oh, wow...
I must say, that I had no idea Robot Chicken and Family Guy had their jokes rooted in the eighties and such. Mostly because I don't try to watch Robot Chicken in it entirety and because I haven't seen much of Family Guy. Although I agree that many people wouldn't get such jokes, I myself understand quite of a few of them without knowledge of much of the early cartoons, other than their existance. It's nice to know someone other than I remembers the Thundercats, though.

Robot chickens audience was aimed at kids born 1979- 1989 Your about 5yrs off the right age group. The thundercats sketch was awesome im born in 81 so i got it and get most of the jokes is i miss any it's cause there all american based, I have the first 3 seasons and the first star wars dvds.
I watch RC and FG intermittently (born in 86- don't judge me yet) and get more or less half the "inside" humor or at least think I do. When unsure I do try and follow up with a little research.
But really, I don't get much more than half of the jokes about current pop-culture. I'm a student of history and love shows like All in the Family but can't claim to know too much about minutia of any age save my own childhood. Sorry for casually co-opting yours.
