My song about seeking what is truly important, and of nourishing one's inner self in a life that's much too short. The accident scene is real.It was actually a Miata, which remained wrapped around that pole, and the driver did NOT survive. The twist is mine.My thanks to Mike Tribble, and to Terry .

....CASUALTY....
In my younger days,I was a simple man.
Living life was easy, out of hand.
But my fortunes grew,
and they weighed me down.
I had the choices but I took no chance,
I let successes hold me in a trance,
I was a casualty.I was a casualty.

In the human race,I was a running fool,
passing all the other kids in school.
In the corporate game,I let friendships go,
I climbed the ladder and I took my place,
I won the ribbon but I lost the race.
I was a casualty.I was a casualty.

I can see where it all went wrong,
I built it up and it held me down.
I was a prisoner but I called it free,
I let it all get the best of me.
I was a casualty.

In my younger days,I was a simple man.
Living life was easy, out of hand.
Women brought me love, and I shot 'em down.
I won the battle but I lost my chance,
I heard the music but I couldn't dance.
I was a casualty.I was a casualty.
