The grandfather is such a chauvenist asshole towards Paikia. He really pisses me off. Especially since he accused Paikia being bad luck for the whales, but no. The whales felt Paikia's pain and they needed her and the asshole was blind to see that. Paikia almost died because of her grandfather's mistreament and discouragement. Thumbs up if you agree.
