Butterfly - DADGAD Finger Picking

Bien que cette slip jig soit souvent attribuée à Tommy Potts (célèbre fiddler de Dublin, mort en 1988), ce dernier semble être tout au plus l'auteur de la phrase A. Les deux autres sont des variantes d'anciens morceaux : "Barney's Goat" et "Skin the Peeler".
Évoquant le vol hésitant et saccadé d'un papillon (cf. version de Kevin Burke sur le CD "In concert" Green Linnet GLCD1196), le morceau est en mi dorien, ce qui permet de conserver l'accordage standard de la guitare (tablature Trad Magazine) ou bien d'opter pour le DADGAD avec un capo 2 (comme sur cette video). L'ambiance très particulière autorise une certaine liberté dans le choix du tempo.
