"An international education experience has a unique capacity to be a continually open channel for the changing conversations of mankind -- a way of building worldwide networks of trust between individuals that offer us potential solutions to the great global challenges that seem to be beyond the capacities of the more traditional approaches to international relations." Martin Davidson, CEO, British Council

At a time when communication is easier than ever, it is a global concern that understanding in many places and between may people is too often fragile or entirely absent. What role can international education -- alongside the scientists, artists and sportsmen and women of tomorrow -- play in encouraging awareness and understanding between different cultures? How can it help the world community to bind itself together with comprehension and avoid fragmenting through alienation? Jonathan Dimbleby will explore these and other questions with a panel who believe that exposure to international ideas and exchange is a force for good.

Leading broadcaster and presenter Jonathan Dimbleby, returns to Going Global for another provocative debate on international education and cultural relations. Voted the number one session of Going Global 2, this was the delegates chance to ask the panel for their views! Featuring Martin Davidson CMG, Chief Executive, British Council; Deng Yaping, Director, Olympic Village Department, Beijing Organizing Committee, Games XXIX Olympiad, China; Charles Leadbeater, Visiting Fellow, National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts;
Keith Khan, Advisor to Government on Education, Sports and Culture and chaired by Jonathan Dimbleby, Broadcaster and Presenter, UK
