Tear.....Take a shower and do something influential with your life. Police needed to keep the peace and their actions were justified. If you were arrested and can prove you did nothing wrong then prove it and move on with your life. Cops only enforce the law they are not judges they see a situation and they take action they are not always right that is why we have a legal system.

Nothing can be said for certain, but I think the goal was largely to get a lot of protesters off the streets on the first day of the convention. The mass arrest also served the function of distracting attention away from the actual RNC proceedings at the Xcel.
