After three flights, two stopovers and 30 hours we finally made it. We are in South Australia!!
Wayne, owner of the Blue Galah, was a welcome face at the airport. After settling in at the hostel we headed straight to the beach for a much-needed dip in astonishingly warm water. Adelaide seems like a really well thought out city; small and compact but surrounded by beautiful parklands. Before jet lag kicked in Andrew, who will be filming our trip for the folks back home, took us out for dinner.
Our first full day has been eventful. We met our knowledgeable Nullabor Tour guide Ashley, who picked us up at 6.20am and drove three hours northwest of Adelaide to the North Flinders range for a camel trek and subsequent bush tucker lunch.
Our Camel, Ferrell, was a bit of a softie, though he did insist on occasionally walking through trees rather than around them. Kangaroo steak for lunch was another first, and actually really tasty!
Our camp tonight is near a place called Wuddina, about 660km away from Adelaide not bad for a days drive. Tomorrow we will be swimming with dolphins and sea lions. Cannot wait!
Check in with us tomorrow to see how we get on
Henry
