Miley rubbed her temples, glancing from the television to Nick at the hallway. "Nothing. He was just leaving."

"You mind telling me what happened?" Justin turned his gaze to Miley now.

Miley's lips pressed into a thin line and she opened her mouth to explain.

"I think it's pretty obvious what happened here." Nick interjected. His eyes were set directly on Justin's arm draped around Miley's shoulder. She didn't even flinch away from him or move away. "Miley invited me over and things got a little heated."

Miley's mouth dropped open and she stared at Nick in disbelief. "That is not true!"

"I think it's time for me to go." Justin removed his arm from Miley and stood up. "I don't know what kind of game you're playing here. I mean, the whole pretending to be your date a few months ago was a little weird. And then I started to get to know you and thought we could actually have a relationship—"

"No, stay." Miley's voice was just above a whisper.

"Miles, its obvious. You're not over him and as much as I like you, I'm not going to be some puppy following you around. You two were meant for each other." Justin said sourly and left the living room.

Miley watched the front door slam closed and stood up. "I think you should go."

"If we didn't sleep together, why didn't you say something?" Nick asked with a gleam in his eye. "Unless we did."

"We didn't!" Miley cried. She noticed Nick wince and remembered he must be drastically hungover. "God, why did you even have to show up here last night, Nick?" She shook her head and rubbed her face. "I was finally getting over you . . ."

Nick cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly embarrassed by her words. His heartbeat thudded in his chest, but he only glanced around the room. "It's only been a few weeks . . ."

"I didn't know there was a set date and time to when I should be over you." Miley said bitterly. "You didn't seem to waste any time to erase me out of your life, so why should I wait around and sulk for you?!" She walked past him and into her bedroom.

Nick followed right after. "I just didn't expect you to move on so quickly."

"Well, I did." Miley whipped around to stare at him long and hard. "What happened to you?" She asked quietly. "Make a freaking decision for once and stop stringing me and Selena along! I'm sick and tired of giving in to your mixed emotions, Nick. I just can't take it anymore."

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I came here last night. It won't happen again." Nick murmured.

"Your wife's looking for you. She called this morning, to my surprise. I thought she wanted to talk, to see how I was. I actually thought maybe she could have forgiven me, but she was looking for you. I told her you weren't here, but got bitched out anyway. Maybe I should've told her, but I couldn't bear to see you lose everything. Silly me."
