Sirius Satellite Radio called to offer me a special rate to reactivate my closed account. I coincidentally had my digital camera set up on a tripod and was able to get the conversation on video.

The guy on the other end was a little surprised to find out that I had been one of Sirius' many credit card fraud victims.

As explained in the video, I had canceled my Sirius service because of terrible sound quality and their attempt to get me to upgrade to CD quality sound for nearly double the price. Regular FM radio is free and sounds better than Sirius. I see no reason to have to upgrade.

The lesson here is to always read your credit card/ATM statements. Most people don't and companies know that. If you cancel a service or recurring payment document everything. Video record your phone conversations when you cancel. If you cancel online, take screen captures of each step of the process. I recommend FireShot for screen captures.

  • sirius sucks!!! im trying actually right now to re cancel an account i cancelled back in july.then the bitch hung up on me when she put me on hold. Ive literayy been on hold for 25 minutes when the automated lady said it would be 5 minutes. Just a huge headache!!!! Then on top of that the lady wasn't even american, so use basic english, no big words

  • @greg0716 I recommend avoiding using a credit card for any recurring service charges. Monster corporations basically have a license to steal via credit card fraud as long as they don't get caught. Even if they do get caught nothing will happen to them.

The numerous times AOL has been busted for the same thing all they are required, nay, "agree" to do is offer victims a few months of free service, no cash reimbursement. You know "cash". What they stole from you.

  • what if i just cancel my walmart card will they try to contact me

  • FYI: Call the bank or CC company immediately after canceling with them and disallow Sirius from accessing your card. I did this last Feb. when I was overcharged for 8 months. Also manually removed my debit card from auto-pay authorization. I know it worked because later in the year I got a call from my bank- they were getting SUSPICIOUS CHARGES hitting my account! Sirius attempting to bill me automatically with no authorization! I still use them 4 shows i like- but no auto-pay! Motherfuckers.

  • i added a sirious and it was supose to be pay as u go. they needed a cerditcard on file and i get a bill for 269$ i call and argued and told them to cancel ( 23 days from activation date girl told me it was a 75$ charge to deactivate it.. I call my cerditcard and clame a fraurd clame

  • did they actually canceled it?

  • @bbb63 i got one of the older units and when i hook it up in my house i can drive a block away before it gets cut off from my car radio so yeah they were very powerful. but i notice some of the newer units that are not as powerful do have a some static even on dead stations. thats why ill be keeping my old unit even over the newer nicer ones.

  • 9 months and he finally call about it now? iv never ever had any trouble with my account or reception and iv had it almost 5 years now.

  • I contacted them by phone FIVE days before acct expiration to notify that

I do NOT want automatic billing. Five days later they attempted to bill my bank acct

but the debt card was expired. Then they sent me and invoice both email and postal

stating and OUTSTANDING bal of $180.00. For 3 days I cant get anyone on the phone...and when i do, they tell me its their POLICY. They suck.

  • I only use the gift card method! I would not want them to have access to any of my credit/debit cards which I rarely use. Stern fan here:)
