The Flooding of the Dumfries Whitesands

The Dumfries Whitesands flooded twice last week which is a common sight around this time of year.

@tbkb11 Lets see what we have here.... - A bunch of buses ;D - The Loburn Center with the only decent shops being HMV, Next, Clairs and ovc Poundland. - A big-ish New Look. - 2 Tescos, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Framfoods, Iceland - A Free Youth Center - THE DOC PARK - River Island - A bunch of 'toiletry' shops - A pretty decent Tatto/Piercing shop (Needleworks) - Some pretty cool independent music shops - A nice Indian (India Palms) what else dya want from the biggest town in SW Scotland ;D?

You dont get folk from Glasgow or Edinburgh etc saying , oh we must go to Dumfries for a few days there is so much to do , like the dock park , fu a dug turd, the white sands fu a water , the High street ,fu a neds and closed doon shops ,oh aye DG wan ,just Fu ya canny get in ,bank st fu a drunks , the vennel ,fu a nuthing ,rabbie burns fu a shit ,..Doonhammer ,no thanks they should hammerdoon dumfries period .

you think they would just remove a few feet of top bed from the more shallow areas of the river further down stream and try to drop the river level a good bit ,then build the banking up both sides ,but no the council would rather spend money on more traffic lights and bloody pointless roundabouts , can i ask what bright spark decided to put the new college in the Crichton grounds , the worst place in Dumfries to get too !!! Bloody council should be sacked

dumfries is the most boring town ever no shops nothing to do just a run down ice bowl great or what,get a grip dumfries and start spending some money on the town instead of all the council linning there pockets!!!!!!! oh yeah love the stage thats getting built at mid steeple what a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a pity that there was not a bigger flood to send the hole of Dumfries down into the sea and along with there neds and there bottles of bukfast.
