My second hacked radio into a guitar amp. This one is appropriately made by Hacker from 1966. British made, built like a battleship - fabulous. It's very loud when turned up and overdrives beautifully for that cool distortion. The camera mic doesn't do the sound justice but you get the idea.

  • Thanks folks. Yeah it takes two 9volts in series but it will run at 9 with slight loss of volume. Harp - I reckon it would be good too, must try it, maybe post another vid.

  • Sounds really great! Powered at 18v, it could be somewhere between 10 and 15 v. That crunch tone you get is awesome. I've had good luck converting old reel-to-reel tape players too. I have a 1960's Conrad that sounds really great with my CBG. I bet your little Hacker would sound really sweet for harp too!

  • that is so cool i dont even know what to say. I hope you make these and sell them or something. I just made an amp from scrap wood and nails and whatnot I will post a video soon. Awesome amp.

  • Masterful.

  • Fabulous! In every way possible!
