I like the idea, it could be similiar to Brothers in Arms . Only for single player of course.

This would be awesome. I've always wanted a strategy game that allowed you to go FPS with any of your soldiers; your suggestions are a really reasonable implementation of this.

What if the game allowed you to switch between controlling bots without dying? When you switch to a different bot, the previous bot will proceed to attack or defend the nearest point of interest, allowing you to modify strategies that way.
