Tom, thank you so much for recording me! A gloomy day it was! I had a friend take the westbound Cardinal, train #51 to Chicago (I always take #29), I rode with him to Manassas, then took a regional train back to DC to catch the westbound Capitol, luckily I did, because #51 hit a truck and everyone had to be bussed to Chicago! My ride on the Capitol was superb as always, great food, great crew, and arrival in Chicago was 20 min early! Thanks again for the vid!

His trip got better after he arrived Chicago ha ha. I should be on the WB Capitol Ltd sometime again in May. Going to see my Metra Commuter Rail Conductor friend and do some railfanning. You should take a trip on the Capitol one day, it's WELL worth it! DC to Pittsburgh is a great run especially in a sleeper.

I plan on doing at least Rockville to Harpers Ferry and back at some point, or one way if my wife will help me drop my car off at HF. Waiting until spring is probably a good idea scenery-wise.
Let me know when you use this train again.

You're welcome - it was a close run thing. We came back to the house from dinner just in time for me to check the DC departure time so I knew whether or not to zip over to the station. Made it with less than 10 minutes to spare. Sounds like you had a great trip and your friend did not!
