@21693hannah - Agreed, it is pretty tacky! However, it's not really a tradition per say. OU was ranked #1 at the time and it was the first time Coach Pinkel had beaten them. It was also homecoming and the first time that College Game Day had ever come to a Mizzou game. The crowd went nuts. They have since remedied this though by installing quick collapse goal posts that they take down quickly after every big game. I don't think the goal posts have been torn down since.

to all of the ignorant SEC fans talkin how mizzou will not be able to beat anyone, just take this into consideraton the last 4 sec teams we'v played we'v beat, and we have handed bear bryant his worst loss in his years at alabama so id say we'v got a pretty good chance to take this league

Yeah , the basketball arena should be top notch because the same people that built it built bud walton arena in fayetteville and it was patterned exactly after the same plans. =-) welcome to the league.

@PoonZorro Faurot Field will need upgrading for sure and is now sceduled to receive it with admission into the SEC, however Mizzou Arena is top-notch and compare with most any basketball facility in any conference.

@CSAlmanac A terrific comment - thanks! It's bittersweet for Missouri to leave the Big 12, but the SEC is where we belong now, and look forward to a long relationship with all the great members of that great conference. MIZZOU-Rah!!!!
