Two Outward Bound Sail Boats "Trying" to row Under the Blyman Bridge against the tide in Gloucester Harbor. The first boat made it just under the bridge. Unfortunately they came to a standstill because of the fast moving tide. They both backed up to wait for the slack tide. Approx. 2 hour wait. 05/30/2009. GOOD TRY!

  • @666threesixes666 Ah, yeah, try that in the Boston Harbor.

  • row ye scurvy swab, avoid, baton down the hatches, fight the current, walk ye plank to Davey Jone's locker. these dumb asses would be better off with a pole to the bottom of that channel italian water street style.

  • i did this last year on the old boats. with less of a tide

  • first Outward Bound boats were designed by Cy Hamlin.

  • Are those boats Nigel Iren's designs? Roxane's?Great boats! With six rowers they would have done it!

  • I can't believe they tried this. I've stood there and watched boats going thru ( I like to watch them) and that current is so strong and fast. At least they tried I guess.

  • I'm surprised the attempted that. With twin 300hp engines in my boat, it can be a daunting task...! Exhausting work.
