Got to love the connections... I learned this by watching Lyle Lovett on a You Tube video... I slow it down, but I down say alot.. I guess I still want you to put your fingers on the strings and hear the song. When you can play it and hear it, you've mastered it. Wish you luck and the Capo is at the 3rd fret.

  • I saw a video that plays it pretty close to you, but without the capo. And your technique after the 4 bass note start part is different. But it sounds right still. It gives me more to work on in getting it down. Good job!

  • @boblopez5000 Search Lyle Lovett Tennessee Flat Top, he's playing a tribute show with the Mavericks... I studied that one, though I knew the song from my youth.

  • Looks & sounds good to me Dave, picking it up from a video is awesome. I am a rank beginner & can only hope to be that good some day.

  • @tprjj49707 Wish you luck... read all the comments, you might be learning it wrong.. but that's the joy of adventure... I think I stole the lick from a Lyle Lovett video; so he's doing it wrong too.

  • man, it sounds ok to me.....everybody should lighten up there's a hundred ways to play the same song. who wants to repeat everything

  • @mountainat85 Thanks... I do appreciate the nice words... it's not like I haven't learned a song wrong and had my band mate Tim correct me too. Isn't that what they call jazz?

  • @dlew71662 naw, your wrong

  • @DaveZeman Yeh its ok :) I just got annoyed with some people on youtube :p

  • @dlew71662 I probably do for a lot of teachers and players out there... you will find worse players, I'm sure you will find better teachers, and some you'll actually have to pay money for. '-)

  • @owenoj Ha... I'm not here to pick any battles, if I helped someone great, if I offended some one I apologize, if I frustrated someone... I'm going to guess it might have been more difficult than they are ready for... I've tried things I can't pick up... we all aren't made to be Chet Atkins. Thanks for the nice words.
