I am trying it out right now. After I poured my borax it seemed the rest of the box was a brick. Is that normal. Sorry, I have never used borax before.

Whitney, I just made a batch of this using 20 Mule Team Borax. Arm and Hammer Washing Soda, and a bar of Fels-Naptha soap. A load of my husband's clothes is in the wash now to test it out. Thanks for the recipe!

@OreoSkor I haven't tried it, but I'm sure you can. I would just make sure to grate it all really small because you want it all to disolve well...you wouldn't want any of the green soap left behind on your clothes. (Irish Spring is green, right?) I've only used ivory and zote bars so far. I've never had a problem with that pink (zote) soap being left behind on anything...but it's made for washing clothes with. Hehe I'm rambling...hope that helps :)

In your video the zote soap looks to be softer when you are grating it. When I went to grate mine, it more or less chipped off and made a powder like substance. Is this ok to use? Thanks Whitney. BTW I LOVE your videos!

@JPresHollandGirl My soap was a mix of powder and grated and it works just fine :) If the chips seem too big then you can try to smash or cut them smaller. But yeah, it's totally ok to use :) Glad you like the videos!
