this was an issue i had at a concert recently. It was Dream Theatre, with Periphery opening for them.
Periphery sounded amazing. Every note was clear, every line of vocal was crisp, it was awesome.
Dream Threatre came on stage, and instantly my ears started ringing from the loudness. Me and my boyfriend had to put our headphones on (we didn't bring earplugs because... well earplugs are for pussies) just to make the sound BETTER, because without the earplugs all we heard was ringing.

@RocknCorruptrepublic Invest at least a hundred dollars in decent headphones, an you will hear the bass :) (of course only if the recording is not fucked up :P)

I'm so with you on the bass thing.

The loudness war is why I went back to vinyl and cassettes.
I have a tape deck that sounds so good, I keep asking myself "Why did I ever go to cd's?" XD

I haven't heard you say anything about Waka Floca? Ha ha, just kidding. Join the battle against the Loudness War...

It appears the Loudness War has even overtaken the new Metallica EP, which has some kick ass songs on it.

When did Pearl Jam resort to the Loudness War? With the Ten re-release?

@1ex1uger That and the self-titled album was on the loud side.
