Filmed on location at Kipling's home, Batemans in Sussex, this wonderful, award-winning program re-creates one day in the life of Rudyard Kipling: the day in 1907 when this unassuming author learns he has won the Nobel Prize for literature. "Believable and warm picture of Rudyard Kipling. These are wonderful moments ... excellent."—Film News. A Coronet release. 30 minutes, color.

  • Kipling was a jingoist! The norm for the age! Sent many men to their deaths with a cheery song on their lips, perhaps even his own son in WW1. This had a profound effect upon him, slightly unhinged him great poet and song writer for his age.

  • @StanierBlack5LMS Well said. I agree with every word. Only the BNP, and to a lesser extent UKIP, can save britain.

  • While I don't reside in Britain anymore, if I did the BNP would be the ONLY Party I voted for. As a English descendant, England should be for the English only. The Motherland should not be turned into some stupid American melting pot. It belongs to the Queen and her people. Stop giving the country away to the EU and foreigners. Rudyard Kipling was a great man and he represents the people and the Empire of the time and what all good Englishman SHOULD be.

  • Kipling was not a racist in the vicious, supremacist way of the BNP. He held paternalist racialist views that would be generally condemned today but which were pretty common in his day. They are mild compared to those of the BNP. Kipling never showed hatred for the subject races of the empire, at worst his attitude was patronising. He also foresaw a time when Empire would end and he hoped this would result in an closely knit commonwealth. It didn't. Kipling would have despised the BNP.

  • There should be an anti-immigration rule, or one day there will no longer be a recognizable Britain.

  • I know Kipling is known as a racist, but he has some value... don't advertise those Nazis in the BNP here.

  • Wow, Kipling is known as this much of a racist?

  • Vote BNP

  • No britain has never and will never be ruled by racists. there never has been anti-immigration rules and there never will

  • Huhh?
