  • She's so cheeky! "An actress, not a song!" Love her, always and forever! ;)

  • Bette looks great here! I love it when she says, " I am an actress, not a song".

  • @lorrainewands Nicely put. Your comment reminds me of something Jimmy Stewart said about It's A Wonderful Life which which was not a success when released but which, over the years, had become a holiday favorite. He said Capra would be touched to know that as he was so proud of the movie and was disappointed it was not a hit when released. Robert Osbourne, I think, chalked it up to WWII being over and a public intent on moving forward whereas this movie takes place in the past.

  • @shawnanthony1992: And she was an actress AND a song. In 1981 performed Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes".She met and told her, her grandson learnt that with a "rock'n'roll" song she must have been soembody important.

Looking thinner must hve been one of her last public appearances before her "annus horribilis" 1983, before mastectomia, stroke and broken hip. But:always stood

Comparing to Joan Crawford (I'm a star!) she once said: M not a star, m an actress";)

  • You are an actress AND a song "Bette Davis eyes" by Kim Carnes, met her and told her, if she now "is" a song - rock'n'roll ;) - her grandson learnt she is something important.

You are the best actress ever, Bette, love you so much! Thank you for posting, and

looking a bit smaller it seems to me one of her last public appearances ( 1982 ) before her terrible "annus horribilis" 1983 with mastectomie, stroke and broken hip-- but you are still here and forever!

  • She was a TOUGH COOKIE!! Great actress with great attitude.. RIP Bette

  • Ironic!!!

She trashed "A Pocketful of Miracles" and Capra throughout the 1960's!!!

  • Listen, i'm a 19 year old guy and i think she is absolutely beautiful. She's glowing! I love how she looks on the Dick Cavett show too, with the beret and glasses.. She's spectacular :) "But y'ar Blanche! Y'ar in that chair!" - They don't make them like her anymore.

  • she's got Bette Davis Eyes

  • I love bette, my idol. She's a b!tch I love her so much. If she was alive now she would be 103 I think.

    Aww.

  • "A great director gives the audience a new way of seeing the world". He did precisely that, and yet I am not convinced that the in which Mr. Capra saw the world was entirely new. I do believe that his view was as old as humanity, but one that people forget when life gets in the way.
