Thorough diagnosis, 24 hour small MORA + PT (in some cases) is the most non invasive and most conservative approach. When needed Ortho (or oclusal reconstruction) after establishing correct bite with MORA, is the permeant approach for some. Or some do not need MORA longterm or just ware it at night. 5% still need surgery. Problem is there is discrimination against TMD in all but two states.
Is this available everywhere? Can my local doctor do this procedure or is this something that is only done by specialists in certain parts of the country?
I am definitely in the category of try whatever you can before opting for surgery because of the stories I have heard from family and friends about surgeries that really didnt fix the problem. There are so many variables involved. I am much more into things like chiropractic care and things like that. This certainly seems like a safe alternative to surgery.
I fell on the ice about 10 years ago and slammed on my shoulder. Thought I broke it but didnt. Doctors kept telling me to have surgery but I was always scared of doing it as I have heard horror stories. Prolotherapy looks like a viable option. Anyone ever had this done before?

Well, a few needle pricks is worth it if you can end years of chronic pain. In my opinion anyways.

In the video the Dr says it is less expensive than surgical options so that is a good thing.
