The guitar ending version reminds me of some Pink Floyd "guitar sound".

Ha ha! I'm 52, always thought it was "as long as they play too LONG"...But I also felt lyric was "funked up MUZAK" which would show disdain for what the girls found good in music, MUZAK being a trade name for the instrumentalized rock played once upon a time in elevators, JC Penney, the Doctor's office, etc. etc...(i.e. "elevator music"...)
