She was charming, glamorous, and most importantly, beautiful. But she didn't think so. She thought she was totally opposite than beautiful.
She considered the fact that she was unattractive, unsightly, and just plain ugly. She was disgusted with her weight, her complexion, appearance, and her features.

The morning of her sixteenth birthday, she was freshly showered, and as the sun peaked through her window she was ready.
A blue sundress was placed on top of her body, tugging against her skin. Her cocoa, chocolate brown long hair, straightened for the first time in a long while. A thin stroke of black eyeliner on top of a light sea, watery blue eye shadow that was patted on her lids. She smiled as she brushed a bit of pink rouge on her cheeks with a blush brush. The last thing to do was to apply a bit of a bright, Barbie doll pink lip gloss.

It was her birthday today, the best day of her year, she wasn't going to stop trying to look her best.
"Bye mom." She waved good-bye, as her mom stopped the car in front of the school. She was just in time. Not too early, and not too late. 5 minutes before the bell rang was the time she always came to school.
She had a bit of bravery swinging inside of her today. She walked by a group of Senior girls. They were picture perfect in any way. She ignored them, this was her day. She reminded herself: Her birthday. Her special day.

First period was on its way. She entered the class and quickly grabbed her seat. No one, yet, had said a word to her. Great, she thought. This was going to be a typical day, huh?
"Good morning, class." The teacher said as he entered the room. The bell rang a second later, and he closed the door. "Too bad, you're late." he snickered as people knocked on the door. The class ran smoothly, the class was full of teaching and at the end, as usual, they were all piled up with a handful of homework. Handful meaning, worth a week's homework. She let out a tired sigh and walked down the hallway to her locker. Reaching out for her textbook in the damn blue metal box, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Immediately she looked behind her, dropping the History textbook in there.
"Hi." A boy, one that was strangely cute but she had never seen around, was stood in front of her. He had on a blue t-shirt, which looked as if it were ironed, and some black jeans, paired off with some Nikes.
"Um, hi?" she questioned with a plain smile on her lips. He was never seen around the school before, or maybe she just hadn't noticed him.
"I'm Zachery Campbell." He said with a smile, introducing himself.
"And I'm Jennifer Cormier." She smiled awkwardly.
"I know. I know who you are. Happy birthday." He said smiling widely now, holding a small box in his hands. Jennifer stared at the box. How did he even know her birthday was today?
The first question that came out of her mouth was, "How do you know who I am?" Which was surprisingly shocking, knowing the fact that she was a loner around this stupid hell hole.
"My friend, Alexander Waters was in your class last year. Science, I believe." He said. She nodded her head.
"Oh." she simply said. She looked into his hazel, brown eyes.
"Here." he says, pushing forward the small box.
"What's this?" Jennifer asked. She reached for it, their fingers touching. She felt a cold shiver go down her spine, reciprocating her reflexes.
"A birthday present, since it's your birthday and all." he said slowly.
"Right. But, you didn't have to. I mean-" Before she could say anything else, he placed a hand on her right cheek and leaned in, kissing her. And with this Jennifer was completely mind blown. She couldn't think, or even speak for that matter. But in the end she managed a "Whoa."
"What?" he laughed. "What was that for?" she giggled.
"To put that affection in simple terms; You're too gorgeous, saying that I can't resist it. It just had to happen." he smiled, hoping for her to smile back.
She giggled cutely. No one had ever said that to her before, and she said so to him, as which to he responded with complete shock.
"Are you sure?" he asks. She nodded and he kissed her again. Sure she was late for class, but she had to say that he was a miracle.

Having insecurities is what any teenage girl would have, and it's normal. But when you find that one person, who-even with your flaws discovered-loves you, the situation turns out to be completely different.
