Now We are talkin'...
Sometimes good ideas take a while to happen, this one took a decade! Pete Jordan and Will Kirby (aka Santero) had become good friends after meeting in at the legendary club The Bomb in Nottingham UK around 2001 where they were both were learning their craft as resident DJs. The club boasted the likes of Craig Richards, Sasha, Lee Burridge, Layo & Bushwacka, Andy C, Mr Scruff and Derrick Carter as some of its other residents over the years before finally closing in 2006. It ís fair to say it was a great way to kick off their career in the music industry.
Fast forward ten years and Pete had gone onto build his Spectrum club night into one of the UK's most respected club events, hosting arenas at major music festivals and holding huge events at many of the UK's and Europe's best venues. His own DJ career had progressed in a similar fashion with him playing regularly across the world, supporting The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal and Deadmau5 on their arena tours and playing main stage of Global Gathering Festival. Santero had become a much-loved UK circuit DJ, playing up to 250 shows a year as he became a secret weapon of many a promoter as his hip hop DJing skills, and ear for the best music whatever genre, stood him head and shoulders above many of his peers. Almost too busy to do anything other play gigs, it was only a last minute decision that saw him enter the 2010 Redbull Thre3Style DJ competition. Without even breaking a sweat he would sweep the board at the UK final and go on to the world finals In Paris. Suddenly people were taking note of a star in the making.
As soon as they decided to produce together It wouldn't be long before the first finished tracks were flying out the studio, and their first ever track Hawk Eye grabbed the attention of Top Billin who immediately signed it for the label. The next four tracks were soon finished and sounding good, and without a second thought Top Billin signed all of them and the first two full EP's were set for early 2011 release. In the meantime remix demand for the pair has resulted and their remix for Zeds Dead on Kissy Sell Out's San City High has received numerous plays on Radio 1.
Aha Okay and Birthday boy are two Heavy Bass'd housers that Gung-Ho! Just HAD to sign.
