is this submission legal for a white belt to use in competition?

One thing about this though, is you do need room to get your foot under. Notice how the guy lifts his foot a little so the leg can get under? It's best to keep one hand up and defend the choke with your chin tucked, buying time, and reaching down with the other hand to pull the opponets foot into correct position, otherwise, if strikes are coming, and you keep missing the foot hook, you're going to take a lot of damage.

I learned this move from a regular jiu jitsu gey. Whe where rolling, and I was a lot heavier a stronger, and somehow I got his back. Then I went for the body triangle and he almost broke my foot.

nawh, nice they can snuggle

@wtfnig8 Jiu jiuts in its entireity is situational............

@wtfnig8 In BJJ you should learn atleast one escape and defense to every situation

This is one of my favourite ones

This counter works very well. I know this because i have been caught out with it before, proceeded to learn the move myself, and have no tapped sparring partners with it. Very strong technique.

@minutedude It is legal, as long you not try to get a tap by squezzing. But just like taking the back and putting hooks, if there is not progression the referee will stop the contest. So it is better to put more effort in choking the shit out opponet quickly. And with only the hooks you also have the option to use the legs to trap a deffending arm or to swing your hips to a armlock. I know this rules sucks, and encourage people to not care about giving their backs and not learning newaza.

This counter WORKS. I was sparring with a much smaller guy and got him in a body triangle (which I love because I have long legs), and he did this move. Almost broke my ankle. I had no idea what happened. It's awesome, because most guys don't know about it, so they don't see it coming--they're concentrating on choking you out and forget about their legs.
Another great move is when the guy gets your back and crosses his ankles in front of you (a closed guard from the back). Look that one up...
simple and to the point, this is a good counter
