Shooting, showing, & discussing one of the greatest handguns and calibers of all time: the .44 Magnum S&W 629.
Hope you enjoy a break from all the "polymer wonder" pistols! I do love my .44s, and I had a great time doing this video! :-)

The O'Rourke pancake holster lying on the table is the holster I normally use with big revolvers. I meant to mention it . His website -

  • This may be a stupid question but what is the difference between 44.Mag and 44.rem mag?

  • @froggergoat, Same thing. Remington developed the cartridge, so the full name is ".44 Remington Magnum"; however, most people just say .44 Magnum. The .40 caliber is actually a ".40 S&W" cartridge, but we usually just call it the .40 caliber.

  • maybe im mistaken, but doesnt the bullet expand from a .430 diameter to a true .440 diameter in the barrel due to the lead expanding?

  • @spiffinz , Not really.

  • revolvers are fun to shoot

  • I perfer to shoot 44 special through my raging bull the 44 mag full power loads are hard on my hand. Im not sure why but my 454 dosnt even kick as hard as the 44. maby the difference is the 454 has a longer barrel.

  • Stupid question, why did they pin the barrel? I heard alot about pinned barrels but I never heard any arguments or info on it.

  • Is there a big difference in shooting compared to a .357 Mag caliber?

  • @spiffinz The .44 measurement comes from the old wild-west cartridge, the .44-40 where the measurement is actually of diameter at the end of the case, just where the bullet is (the "neck" of the case) which was .443-inch. The bullet was smaller but was used in other more modern cartridges like .44 Special and .44 magnum where the ".44" name stuck, even though it is more exactly ".429".

    .44 magnum of course had a .429 barrel for a .429 bullet.

  • @spiffinz back in the day bullet diameter was measured by measuring the casing outer diameter not the actual bullet diameter. most bullets back then were similar to .22s where the bullet and casing were the same diameter. i forget the actual term for that. anyways eventually most bullet diameters were made smaller than that of their casing diameter but the old measuring system was still used for a bit. kind of like a 38 special is actually a ".357 special" due to actual bullet diameter

  • @Weaponcollecter16 not too mention the 45 winmag!

  • @snoorton diamond d leather. he says so in the video i think.

  • what brand of holster is that? I need one of those!!!!
