Hell is real. Hell is not real. Everyone has something to say. Who is right? Well, it impossible to know for sure. Where do we start?
Lets put the idea of Hell to the test.
Is the idea of a literal Hell - a horrific destination for unbelievers - consistent with the concept of a Just and Loving God?
To those who think that a literal Hell makes sense - I hope you will gain a perspective that will help you realize that Hell is pointless and thus represents a fictional idea. In either case, I welcome your input.
Some points of my argument are:
1. A minor side point: Adam ate the "apple" (fruit of knowledge) not knowing YET good and evil. He was so dumb he didn't even know he was naked. He was no more responsible for his choice than a child that tragically plays with a shiny blade or a live hand grenade. Whatever consequences of his action are, be it the tough living outside of paradise or knowledge of good and evil propagating to his children - punishment by Hell (plus the one that afflicts by default his descendants ) is disproportionate.
2. Setup for the main point: The world is not divided into "A" (Believers) and "B" (Non-believers) - those who accept and those who reject. There is a HUGE other category that is often ignored. Call it "C" - those who never heard about Jesus, Adam, Hell, etc. They never had the option to believe. They are people too. And they make up most of the population that ever lived on Earth. They are just as capable of belief as those who heard the message - otherwise why are the descendants of Mayans, now living in Mexico so heavily Christian? They were pagans before they knew about gospels. Now that they have heard - they are pagans no longer.
3. Main point - how do the people in the "C" category (ignorant about the idea Christianity) avoid Hell? There has got to be an answer to this sort of question.
If they are presented with a vision of him upon death, they have far more advantage than those who are asked to believe purely based on what they read and heard. Seeing is believing.
The past and present existence of such people, in my opinion, is the key to understanding the non-reality of Hell.
If God is Just and Loving, then Hell makes no sense. Hell is imaginary.
If you think that Hell exists, then God is simply Wrathful and Frightening. In that case, why call him Just and Loving?

LOL, you can choose some things and not others, who says????? I have read the bible, now listen carefully!!!!! i dont believe in it!! Down the toilet goes your philosophy. I agree there are preferences people have which allows them to like things like certain music or books. But faith is a choice. This is obvious as there are billions of people with different faiths who choose, I dare you to read the quran, as a test and see if your left choiceless??? Bet u have a choice at the end of it!!
:) I listen carefuly. But you do not. You assume the Bible is my philosophy. Why? You don't believe in it. But do you choose to disbelieve? Can you choose to believe something when you think its bullshit? Can you choose to like the color red when it makes you sick? Can you choose to love a person you hate? Not to pretend or act as if you love them, but ACTUALLY love them. By CHOICE? You don't have to respond to me. Just ask yourself. And be honest to yourself.
And if you think we don't choose which books we like, but we simply like something or not - what makes you think that faith is any different. What choice did you make? What was the question to which you answered YES and why? What was your thinking when you made the choice? What did you believe before you made the choice, what was the choice, and what did you believe after the choice?
I don't think we can choose what we believe. We can only choose how we act upon those beliefs once we have them.
You, on the other hand, seem to be suggesting that you did choose your beliefs. So, I am curious if you could share the thought process, that resulted in your choice.
I don't think you'll be able to come up with one devoid of an already present faith. You avoiding this challenge seems to support my claim. So, I invite you once again to illuminate: share your "choice".
Of course I chose to write it :) Its an action. You declining to provide an example of your choosing your faith is also your choice. At least you are honest about it. Take care :)
by the time those previously christian people decieded to become muslims, they were no longer Christian. they didn't decide to conert WHILE they still believed in Jesus. They were perhaps former Christians and were no longer satisfied with their faith and were looking for something to fill the void and Islam did it for them.
Its like if a guy gets a girlfriend while married to another woman it means he is no longer in love with his wife and he was ready to fall in love with another for a time.

It's a wonder why Christians today still persist on using it. Is there nothing better in the bible that can be used to convince people of its truth?
I feel that a person can change their beliefs (or youth indoctrination) but not without the help of others and a great deal of thought and stress.
A person can choose, but it is not easy.
