Spain haven't looked back since they won the Euro 2008 and stormed away with their qualifying campaign winning all ten matches. The Spanish fans expect a new fiesta in South Africa as their heroes start the campaign against Switzerland in Durban. Spain was priced at 11 times the money to win the World Cup just after their triumph two years ago, but now they are quoted on 5.00. Say no more. Switzerland will defend but a neutral eye goes for a solid Spanish win in Durban.

Hosts South Africa could well have been 3-0 down after the first half against Mexico in the opening match, but they showed moral and skill when they fought back and even took the lead via Tshabalala´s wonder-strike. At the end, they had to settle with a draw and Uruguay also snatched a draw when they faced France. There could be a new draw on the agenda here but South Africa need to stop Diego Forlan who seems to be in good form.

Honduras is a physical side and had the best defensive record when they qualified from CONCACAF after USA and Mexico but before Costa Rica on goal-difference, letting in only eleven goals in ten matches. Honduras now faces a stern test when they meet Chile in Nelspruit. Chile is considered to be one of the tournament outsiders with an attacking mind and should overcome the Central Americans who takes part in only their second World Cup. Back then, in 1982, they showed some class when they took points of both Spain and Northern Ireland. Maybe this years side shouldn't be underestimated with that in mind?
