It's sad, but it leaves off on a hopeful note with Nazi!Maes Hughes from the FMA Movie and Roy.

Basic story, if you didn't quite understand it: Roy and Maes had a relationship, but broke it off at some point and Maes focused solely on Gracia and Elysia. And then, of course, *insertspoilerhere* happens and Roy is left all alone. Please rate and review!
