Modnation Racers Video Review

Carrying Sonys new mantra of play, create, and share, Modnation Racers was revealed during the company's E3 2009 press conference to a surprised crowd. When compared to the rest of the showings, many of which were leaked in the weeks leading up to the show, the announcement came out of nowhere. With it, came the promise of being one of the only kart racers not tied to a pre-existing franchise, giving the developers, United Front Games, plenty of room to experiment. In the past, the field was dominated by iconic characters shoved into vehicles, forced to do battles while retaining elements from their own individual games. Finally, a developer would be given a clean slate, doing whatever worked, without needing to bow down to pre-established rules. Now, less than a year after the reveal, we're able to see what they did with this newfound power.

LOL, I actually enjoyed this game's story MORE than Cars. xD

(Mind you, this isn't saying a lot, as Cars sucks. But it's laughably embarrassing that a kart-racing video game, that barely focusses on story AT ALL, has a better story than a full-length film.)

ModNation Racers is one of those games that has barely any story at all (as it isn't supposed to), but the story that IS included is mildly entertaining.

@gamingrocks100 Never mind, I just figured it out.

If you get an endless loading screen w/ a logo when you start the game, you must:

1) Delete Game Data (DON'T delete Save Data or User Created Content files)

2) Change the PS3's clock to "Sync via Internet"

3) Start up the game, and install all patches & updates as instructed.

Hey guys,

I just bought this game. After it finishes updating the software and game data, a loading screen appears with a logo & rotating wheel, and it NEVER ends. I waited a half-hour, and nothing happened. Every time I tried to reboot the game, it takes me back to that loading screen. I tried downloading the latest console system update, and it STILL won't work.

Has anybody else had this problem?

I would REALLY like help. I feel ripped off. I paid for a game, and I cannot even play it.

Wait, chaosmonkey, is that comparison I hear? The game is good and fun, it is completly original, the controls couldn't be better, it has much more creative weapons, you can make your own track, the online is close to flawless, almost no glitches and the loading has been updated. I own the game your comparing, and I much prefer Modnation. Your just a sega fanboy.
