Correction: many of the auction horses are actually in fine shape, that's one of so many misconceptions. Many are young & sound. Some are not but most are. That is the horror of it, these could still be wonderful companions and riding animals. Instead, they become food. >shivers<

David Martin Anderson does a nice job describing horse slaughter in his just released novel (historical fiction), 'The Last Good Horse.' In his book, the action takes place in 1939 Montana. He vividly describes the horse round-ups and rendering, back when horse meat was valued for dog food and chicken feed. Also, there's an author You Tube interview on the subject that's fascinating. Do a search under the author's name to find the clip.

Every last acre he runs would B inhabited by horses in 1 year! U get the jist of the problem? Not 2 mention T. boone better b ready to dish out about 5-10 mil a year just castration of the colts. or that 100,000 will be near 200,000 in 11 months. And since u'v only got this far in 6 years. theres no way U could handle them

@GODBLESSAMERICA71 What R U talking about? I run nearly 300 head of calving cows. My horses are small in number and bred well to work the ranch. I train them up to work ranches the best stay as my saddle horses and the rest go to loving homes or other working ranches. LOL again U spin ur tires and get no were. LOL
