Just as a tip: E410 and E510 do have really nice-priced macro lenses, both the 50mm 2.0 from olympus, and the spectacular 105mm and 150mm from sigma, pair that with the 10X live view magnification manual focusing and you have the hell of a macro kit! Saw this set-up in a dental clinic... Also, on a 4:3-system, a 50mm macro is a 100mm macro on 35mm. I believe its sub 300$, match that canon/nikon!

@mojospogo ..my goodness i had the same problem for a long time..i was so annoyed with that function..next to the on and off button there is a left and right scrolling ..i think it changes ISO or some thing..what ever it is..change it to lesser and see ur problem will be solved..u can take a great pic..really..its not the problem with camera..its the understanding towards it..the scrolling alters the light..

@vintagebarbie8 It's ok, thanks for the reply. I lost mine somewhere in the house, i won't bother looking/replacing if its not that important then!
Thanks.

@TheMovieMaker123 its to attach a flash, i just found out today, i don't think its that important unless you need another flash, other than the built in one, you probably know now, like 7 months ago :)

@mojospogo omg i have the exact same problem! it takes forever to take cos of the flashing :)

Is it true that E410 has better image quality (more detail) in ISO 1600 than the E-30 (provided you turn Noise filter OFF and reduce sharpness to -2)?

that little back square on the top, that can slide on and off, what does that do please.
( i think i lost mine )
is it still the smallest DIGITAL SLR ??

The E-410 and E-420 remain the smallest DSLRs, although also check out the Panasonic G1, although strictly speaking it's not a DSLR.

I've just bought the camera, but there's no way I can get the grid on the screen (as shown in this video @ 4:05) Could it be the firmware? I use the latest one - 1.3 for body & 1.3 for the lens (14-42mm, the stock lens)There's nothing in the manual on this either?!

As I recall, there's a menu which lets you choose the type of grid you want before it becomes an option in Live View. It will be in the manual though - are you looking at the more detailed PDF version on the supplied CD?

hey.... ive got an olypmus e410
i dont know how to stop the constant flashing be4 taking a photo in the dark....
how can i change the setting so that it would require "one" flash per image?!

That might be the AF assistance - feel free to ask in the Olympus section of the cameralabs forum...
