The whole charm - and much of the humour - of this late Berlin addition to the score of 'Annie Get Your Gun' is lost in this pedestrian performance. If you want to hear how this contrapuntal number SHOULD be rendered, listen to Thomas Hampson and Kim Kriswell in their CD recording with the masterly John McGlinn.

I agree great voices if only it had been sped up. My impression of Annie is a girl who is always full of motion. This version she's way to calm. Annie us usually very saucy no matter who sings whether it's for the show or singing but this is way to slow and soft. Annie is supposed to be annoyed and trying to get her way. This song loses the charm that makes it great being slowed down like this,
Was Kathleen Battle on Valium??

@angeleyeskye It is an upbeat. The comedy is in the timing. I don't know why they slowed it down so much.

Why is it remember this song being more upbeat when I sang it in HS, this song is boring compared to when I sang it

I like Hampson's acting in this. The whole song is far too slow, though, esp. her part.
