Back on OT; The problem with 'learning economics' is it is programming unto itself. Simplicity is elegant. If a household cannot afford something they don't get it. The same should be true of the gov. and big business and corporations. The US dollar once was the commanding currency. Now it is like a "has been that never was". We need totally revamping. It is sad.

Wow. The comments on this is surprising. Ok the federal reserve is not taking care of our money. They have been spending willy nilly, sending overseas and refuse to tell us what they are doing with it. The solution if there is any with our fiat currency is to put it back directly in the hands of congress, who will get voted out if they abuse it. Just like it is outlined in the constitution. Bankers tried to assassinate Andrew Jackson. we don't learn that in school these days either.

US dollar is depreciated not because FRB prints money because you buy all kinds of junks from china.
don't blame FRB. blame wall-mart marketing strategists.

US dollar is depreciated primarily by lowering the demand for it, there are several ways to do that. 1. print way more and circulate more than needed. 2. Destroy the trust in the currency (screw the market up so bad people are scared to hold dollars like buying crap from china) 3. change the dollar based oil prices from the dollar to the euro or other form of currency. All three definitely lowers the value of the dollar and all 3 have been done.
