I'm an artist and someone who's interesting in robotics. Impressive for a machine. The arm is a big difference from a printer!
Anything a machine can do is an extension of human creativity and vision.

You try building one.

Heh, funny how that robot is working like a printer.

From the quality of the picture I'm guessing this was NOT made in china

Damn, that person must be ugly!!! :D
Unless he accidentally lossy compressed the picture he took and drew the pixels incorrectly too! :D

noone called it art, it's called drawing. even an artist can understand that not all drawing is art.
Also, this is a portrait. It has nothing to do with impression, emotion, statements, social significance or any of the many other facets of fascination that separate doodling from real art.
Take it personal already :P

it's just a photocopier! and nothing more! do you think a photocopier is a beautiful piece of creation art. but i will admit it is different from a regular photocopier. but that is all it is just a photocopier.

Yes I can see your way of viewing this. The insult is to the ability to create the image.
But I do think there is art here in the form of the creation of such an incredible automaton. That took real creative genius to plan and build this.
Is that the touch of the master when the object of his creation works or is flawless?
I think the robot itself is a beautiful piece of creation art.

I am a professional artist. i think this is a insult to my profession! i spent years learning it. and to see a glorified photocopier doing what all photocopiers do, and calling it art is a insult to all artists!
From the lab where I work: lasa . epfl . ch
(This is a lab from EPFL, Switzerland)
There are plenty of videos with humanoids on this website.
