My name was legally changed for the FINAL time today!

The Spinal Cord Stimulation trial was successful and plans are proceeding to expedite the permanent implant neurosurgery!

  • Oh yeah, congrats on the name change. Yay

  • @EthanJay1261 haha...thanks man! it's actually my second name change. my first one was a huge concession and ultimately a mistake that i regretted, so i had to make it right. it's a pain in the butt, but it's worth it.

  • Hi Gabe, I just want you to know that I had to retire at 45 due to chronic plantar fascia-itis w/peripheral neuropathy in both feet. I was on all kinds of medications that caused me many concentration, speech and coordination problems. I had the trial SPS. I agreed to have it permanently done, since then I'm off the medications and it really does help with the pain. It's God sent just getting off the meds. Stay positive about it and hit me up if you have any questions. Ethan

  • @EthanJay1261 thanks for the comment ethan. good to hear another success story and i'm so glad it has helped you so much. yeah, i'm hoping to kick narcotics totally. morphine just makes me feel stupid, have no memory and care less about the pain but it doesn't do too much for the pain. and it gives me terrible nightmares. the count down is on to the 23rd! i'll definitely contact you with any questions. what scs system do you have?

  • @Zedie36 I have the Precision by Boston Scientific. I have two leads and my box is in my rt. hip. I have to charge it every other day, however I can't use it while I'm doing things that I bend over or stretch for because the postural changes causes it to be too strong. lol I've learned what I can do w/it & what I can't. Like I said, the most positive thing is No Medications. I'll send prayers your way, Bud. Ethan

  • @EthanJay1261 i'm getting the precision from BS as well. except i'm getting the 2.5 inch paddle that lays directly on the spinal cord. i used so much energy during the trial that i'd have to charge 1-2 hours a day at least with the two leads. the paddle is more energy efficient b/c the electricity is directly targeted down the spine as opposed to the leads being 360 degree electricity. i'm nervous as hell but have high hopes for how good i'll feel in a few months. what was your op recovery like?

  • @Zedie36 I recovered pretty quickly. The hardest thing was where they put the battery pack in my hip caused a lot of burning sensation. I have a Thyroid disease, so my body takes more time to heal. I had to sleep on a recliner for about a month or so. You know Gabe, I understand the nervousness about it, but you will have some relief as long as you don't do what I do and over do things, hahaha. My prayers are with you. Ethan

  • @ValkyrieVegan2 why thank you! i'm definitely going to write a letter for doris. she has gone above and beyond many times. thanks for the good wishes. i'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the implant, that it will be better than i know it can be. we shall see. it'll take 6 months until cyborgabe is fine tuned :) i know i'll fly but DREAD all future travels to israel!

  • @ThatPunkBrent thanks a lot man!

  • congrats on the name change Gabe!
