I was there last year for a few days and had to walk pass the market to get to my hotel. I remembered the smell of the stinky toufu was so overwhelming that I did not try it. It was an interesting place! :)

@fgah its a very generalised statement that the food is unhygenic becasue not all stalls are. you think every western resturant is hygenic? haha then you've got alot to learn.

I had been there last week and the place is worth a nite or two but the over all hygienic perception is bare minimum-oddwardly,it even lacks behind Hong Kong standard,even it is still far far behind western standard - though the Island has been under Japanese influence for over a century. I hope the ppls there will reach a level of close to Japanese perception. National image is reflected through its casual behavior,not intentional grandiose projects.
