  • they will never make cars as big and well made like these again! wanna know why?it would cost the car makers to much money to make a car this well built, now days the cars are nothing but plastic bumpers and boring looking,! if you wrecked into one of these old cars your little honda accord would have a chance!!!!!

  • Holy cow cars were huge back then! I love the classics

  • @WelderCSR it was a '70 model

  • in 1969, my dad ordered a triple black, mercury marquis brougham 2 door. I've got home movies of it and i wish I had that car today.

  • Perhaps, but on many import cars you often get raped on parts, Volvos aren't to bad but Mercedes surely are. Even a crap import car like a Kia is awful, a new alternator costs $400 on a car they sold for $12,000 where a rebuilt Motorcraft or Autolite unit, like these barges used, is under $100. I think what may explain the survival rate is the initial cost, higher priced cars tended to belong to older owners who took care of them.

  • @Doobie1975 Right side mirrors were not common in those days.

  • @JET997u im sure he meant to say that, 2 years ago when he wrote it..

  • @GusTheBus82 What? Your posting doesn't make sense. "If you wrecked into one of these old cars your little honda accord would have a chance!" Don't you mean WOULD NOT have a chance?

  • Marquis Colony Park.... best station wagon ever.

  • The only one that dislikes these fabulous cars is probably a pantywaist liberal that drives a Prius.

  • My grandparents had one of these, awesome car!!

  • all time favorite car is right here. my parents owned a 1969 blue marquis 2-door. first car i really remember. i actually remember my dad driving it home. they owned it for 3 years. my mom loved it and to this day she still gets mad at my dad for trading it in on a 72 t-bird. this and all those from that era had one thing that these so called cars of today dont have...style! they we're eye catcher's. whenever i see one on the road..automatic thumbs up! right side mirror's were options back then
