This is not the whole video shown at Cedarview Youth as their are copyright restrictions. The speaker, Rob Bell asks, What does it mean to have a relationship with God? What does it look like? For a lot of us it's a hard thing to fully understand. If God is an infinite spirit with no shape or form, how can we possibly relate to that? And what about Jesus? He said he came to give everyone life in its fullest. He came to show us how to live. Maybe it's through trusting Jesus and living the kind of life he taught us to live -- a life of truth, love, justice, compassion, forgiveness, and sacrifice -- that we have a relationship with God. Maybe the way we live every day, every single choice we make, determines how in tune with God we are.

  • To clarify

(and I apologize if this sounds crash as I'm not in the best of moods today)

too many people go around with their nose in the Bible looking only at the final action of Christ and forget that he spent time on earth preaching to others about love and forgiveness, about being a better person, and the need to come back to God.

  • He might not have the answers but God does. Isn't that what matters? At least he's trying in some way to bring us closer to the gospel. Slowly but surely, something will be revealed to us if we look for it. "seek and ye shall find"

  • Some fail to grasp this what Rob Bell is saying because they're more concerned about picking up the faults people make - they have a sad and distorted view of the Gospel of Grace

  • Attitude like this do more damage to people and the essence of who Jesus was, because it's all rooted in right/wrong, sin/salvation...being in or out of the Kingdom. God is within everyone, EVERYONE - we just need to search him out and realsie our God-given potential, and to live the lives we were created for. Rob Bell has and is transforming the Chirstian scene with a depth, knowledge & understanding of God.

  • Folk that critisise Rob Bell's approach are talking rubbish - a typical conservative, narrow-minded pious, judgemental attitude. What Rob Bell talks about is a relationship with God, something more than your blinkered, wrath-ridden, angry interpretation of God in fact you don't understand what Rob Bell is speaking about, because you're more concerned about picking people up on their failings, and short-comings and sin, rather than being concerned about living in harmony with God.

  • @farisa2020 Oh, I totally agree with you. Of course. God's answers in His word. Sometimes people take the answers and give them a nice huge twist, and then try to present them to people. Sorry if thats what my comment above has done.. i just now realized its a top comment or whatever when looking for the one you replied to. two years ago i left that.. wow

  • @farisa2020 you seem to believe that I see differently... and fail to comprehend the basic message I wrote throughout. Plus you are responding to someone who posted this a year ago. If you really felt strongly about talking to me about this subject then you would have messaged me privately. God bless. (p.s. stop spamming politics here, it just makes you look trivial.)

  • @farisa2020 and you missed exactly what I was talking about. A smiling face and an open hand does far more than an excuitory finger and stern looks. The message remains the same, but it is the approach that makes the difference. Love is a human ideal. Love is gift from God. Love carries the word of God when the lips of man and woman are unsure what to say. For God so loved this world, he gave us His only begotten Son. Love Saves. Love instills hope. This message we can share together.

  • @4ourty5ive Seek in the Scripture, and the Scripture Only

  • @Musicpuzzle ...through Him, Jesus, who is the only way to God.

  • @Musicpuzzle Scripture is more than just nice, Scripture is everything. We cannot make up our own words to explain why we are condemned. Our own actions condemn us already, when we claim we have no sin. We cannot invent any other language nor use any nicer nor softer words than the ones already spoke in the Bible.

    God Bless you too

  • @Iwastheret0 which God are you having a relationship with? God is visible through Nature and through His Own Word: the Bible. You may be missing something
