Some short clips on the blacksmithshop we have in Nysäter, Sweden. Im work there some times and show the ancient art of blacksmithing for shool classes and tourists. It´s not 100 % historical correct, the anvil and construktion of forge with more. But we should built it better son. More videos then.

  • @wallacewithoutgromit you do know that sweden isnt third world its first world :)

  • I understand the vikings used a rock for an anvil. As for the bellows, bag bellows made from animal skins with the animal taken out (and most likely eaten) or pot bellows with animal skins stretched loosely over pots are easier to make and there fore more likely. The forge would have been more likely a shallow hole in the ground. Until very recently this kind of set up was standard over what we now call the "third world". The fuel was definitely charcoal.

  • burka durka deeka durka! urke surka badurka?

  • brukar man inte ha två bälgar?

  • @ Lidskjalf. I would be very thankfull if you would post for all of us the title of these 2 lovely songs please.

You know very well we all want to know them :)

  • This video is very cool. Anybody know the name of the song playing near the end?

  • Very nice set up you have.

  • This is a great video, I was wondering if you know how they made their bellows, I am a blacksmith from Canada and I am doing research on how to make an authentic viking(norse) bellows, really nice shop by the way :) if you go to lady blacksmith by robert vaughn you'll see me not doing too much smithing but robert wanted to try out his new video camera, I apprenticed with him for several years.

  • It's white history month, kids!

  • @gladgurkan91

You seem to love history as much as I do, I´ll add/subscribe you to my channel. By the way, I am too into forging blades, I have done roman spearheads, and now I will be making a very simple shape knife. Hope we talk some more about your projects as well.

    regards
