One slightly shortened lap of the Nordschleife in BMW's new X6 M.
We get chased by a modified E36 M3 and 130i who are pretty keen to get past, but we keep on leaving them behind on the faster stretches.

  • @zenzorism - as I ran out of characters I continue here - during the lap, it was never apparent to me, sitting in the X6M, that the driver was trying to stop you from overtaking. He was trying to go fast, and of course there has to be an ideal line for that. Overtaking within the braking zone is not such a good idea, though is it, and if you could not keep up on the straights, what should he do? Maybe if you have on board video you could share it, so we could see things from your point of view?

  • The X6M was not chased by the E36 it was blocking the E36 in every corner.

Sorry for that declaration but I was driving the E36 ;-)

Yes off course this family home on wheels is quite fast at the straight. :D

Was this fabolous instructor the same hero that smashed the Ringtaxi in 2011 into several cars altough he knew that there were road works and who is known at the Touristenfahrten for his problem to let faster cars overtake?

  • @zenzorism In answer to your question, I don't know, because I don't which instructor was involved in the accident. Having seen the "after" pictures it seems likely to me that the Ring Taxi driver was not the cause of the accident, but crested the hill to find a large number of stationary vehicles (which he would not be expecting merely because the sign was up for barrier repairs). In my opinion the accident was caused by an inexperienced driver braking too hard for the lane restriction.

  • @MrLoose26 - yeah, thanks for your insight

  • @mariohpb - I have to disagree with your comment on the driver, given that:

    1. He is one of the leading instructors in the BMW Driver Training programme

    2. He was responsible for fine tuning the X6M chassis and handling characteristics

  • Yeah! It happens to these guys also, lol

I wish we had his job huh!?

  • @aidan21 well, never underestimate people you don't know..

No sorry no Onboard, it´s not allowed @ Touristenfahrten so I regullary don´t do any onboards. About let overtake, I don´t want to discuss the let overtake issue here but it´s generally a problem for the Ringtaxidrivers. The Ringtaxicrash issue is also something not to be discussed here on YT but there were several cars that reached the roadworks before the Ringtaxi and no one of them caused an accident.

  • @ 3:59 E63 (BMW) ?!

  • @MaSteRbLaSteRBG Your balls are obviously so big you couldnt see the screen because this dudes driving an x6, hes going as fast as it will let him.

  • @TonyBrQ ahaha fine tuning?

Handling, its an x6, handling goes out the window...

  • u need navigation on that track or u can be lost lol

  • @TonyBrQ

yes the point is, it doesn't matter if he is responsible for fine tuning the X6M chassis and all that, that doesn't means that he is a good race driver.. ( sorry for bad english) :)
